The members of the North Sails Classic team accumulate many years of work and commitment building sails for classic yachts and collaborating with the most notable projects through the last years.
 


FLORENCE LEGRAND

She has been sailmaking for 30 years. Living in South of France, she has been involved in the CIM racing circuit and has focused on developing the right materials, shapes, corner patching and finishing.

The result has been a success as many of the most beautiful Classic Yachts have trusted her for their suit of sails.

The sight of the J Class Cambria is a fitting testament to her skill in manufacturing authentic classic sails to the finest detail.
   


MANUEL LASTRA

Affectionately Known as Manolo, he is a true gentleman of classic sailmaking. His large sail loft in Cuntis, near Vigo in the northern Spain has produced sails for several of the world’s best known tall ships, along with a wide range of classic sails for yachts such as the Fife designed Hispania.

The state of the art facilities include laser cutting and sophisticated machines capable of manufacturing the largest of classic sails.

A sailmaker all his life, his abilities span all forms of sailmaking including Americas Cup sails.
   

BENGT LINDHOLM

As an active sailmaker since 1975, Bengt has gained an extensive knowledge about materials, construction and design, all combined with active offshore and one design sailing. Resulting in Worlds, European and National titles.

In sales and support, Bengt's knowledge is ranging from classic to modern types of boats.

Bengt also works as hired consultant for
related issues like rig, equipment, and also as writer and lecturer.
   


GUIDO CAVALAZI

He is an experienced sail designer, well known in the North Sail world since his sailmaking career started in 1976 at NS Italy. Along with his work with several AC Teams, both in 12M and IACC, Guido has been successfully designing Dacron sails since when Racing sails were made in woven Polyester material.

This personal experience is very important in order to interpreter the best way each cloth features, allowing to establish the correct designed shape. It's paramount that a Classic sail has an efficient profile, besides looking good!
   


TONI TIÓ

Formed as industrial engineer, Toni initiated his extensive career in the sailmaking world in 1973 developing sails at the prestigious Cheret Voiles and continued in various European sailing industry companies until 1977, when he returned to Spain to create his own sailmaking company. He conquered countless successes as a keen sailor and as a sailmaker before joining North Sails in 2010 as commercial and technical consultant.

His passion for classic sailing is notorious as he helped to create and run the event Puig Vela Clásica and attends most of the frequent classic events celebrated in the Mediterranean. His experience and know-how is of great value amongst North Sails Classic division.
   


TAMMO BALDSZUN

The 34 years old sailor grew up in the South of Germany and now lives in Hamburg. Educated Sailmaker since 2001, Tammo started working as a sailmaker for North Sails Denmark in 2005, he went back to Germany in 2007 as a Salesmen for North Sails at Lake Constance and currently working with North in Hamburg.

He showed special passion for classic yachts, sailing on 12mR “Trivia” for some years in the Baltic also sailing on 8mR and other classic yachts, also on the Lakes in the south.
